Recently, led by distinguished professor Li Jianshen from the Academy of Fine Arts, a group of Chinese ceramic artists and art students visited Japan’s famous ceramic production areas of Arita, Bizen, Shigaraki, and Tokoname. They conducted research on ancient kiln sites and visited ceramic artists’ studios as part of a series of Sino-Japanese ceramic art exchange activities. A preliminary intention was reached to establish the “Tangying Porcelain Workshop” cultural and art exchange project of Jingdezhen Ceramic University in Arita, Japan. Furthermore, preliminary agreements were made with the Arita town government and Saga University to further strengthen artistic exchanges between China and Japan and promote industry-academia collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts.
