Li Jianshen Visits Japan to Carry Out the “Tang Ying Ceramic Workshop”
Recently, led by Li Jianshen, specially appointed professor of the School of Fine Arts, a group consisting of some Chinese ceramic artists and art students studying abroad traveled to Japan’s renowned ceramic production areas—Arita, Bizen, Shigaraki, and Tokoname—to conduct investigations of ancient kiln sites and visit ceramic artists’ studios, as part of a series of “Sino-Japanese Ceramic Art Exchange” activities. A preliminary intention was reached to establish Jingdezhen Ceramic University’s “Tang Ying Ceramic Workshop” cultural and artistic exchange program in Arita, Japan; in addition, preliminary cooperation intentions were reached with the Arita Town Government, Saga University, and others to further strengthen exchanges between Chinese and Japanese artists and promote industry–academia–research collaboration involving the School of Fine Arts.
